The Atikamekw people of Manawan possess a several millennia culture. It is the people of the bark and even today; they produce quality items with birch bark including the renowned traditional canoe. So famous that the bark rabaskas at the Museum of Civilization in Quebec and the Canadian Museum of History of Gatineau come from Manawan. The best way to learn it is to come and visit the Manawan House of tourism. Other types of Native crafts (aripikorai, tikinagan, earrings, etc.) are on sale for the benefit of local artisans.
