Sugar House Time
Sugar House time is an important part in Native traditions. Find out why by visiting the community of Manawan during that period.
It is said that it is by observing a squirrel drinking sugar water from a maple tree that the first Native, several hundred years ago, began to collect water and boil it to make maple syrup and then share it with the first Europeans who arrived in the seventeenth century. The Natives of Manawan still know how to collect water in the traditional way. During the month of April of each year, we invite you to a cultural and tasting package of 2 nights and 3 days.
