Traditional cuisine
The Atikamekw of Manawan, a Nomadic nation until the early 20th century, lived and still live today by Mother Earth and by the great wilderness. The traditional cuisine is a reflection of the animals we can find there (fish, moose, beaver, etc.), berries (especially blueberries) and maple sap. A stay at the traditional Matakan Island, 22 km from Manawan, or during the annual Pow Wow, will introduce you to traditional food.
